This is a sad event and caution should be given to all people who are not familiar with the areas they are swimming especially since there are no life guards to help. In 1955 a seven year old drowned in what was known as Bleachery Cove in the NW side of South Watuppa Pond. His 8 or 9 year old sister was unable to save him . Never dive or jump into water you don’t know and make sure you know how to swim. I grew up on that lake and knew where you could swim safely.
