After hard work and dedication, a Fall River born fighter finally realized his dream of fighting in the UFC in 2024, now the next step is to come away victorious.

32-year-old Connor “The Controller” Matthews, an Air Force Combat Controller veteran who lives in East Freetown, is set to take on 8-1 Jose Delgado at UFC Fight Night at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 15th. On March 30th of this year, Matthews brought his 7-1 pro MMA record to his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night on ESPN at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ against 11-4 Dennis Buzukja from Staten Island, NY. Matthews lost by TKO in the third round.
