A man who grew up in the area has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash.
50-year-old Christopher D. Pereira of Holden died last Friday from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident that also involved two cars on I-190 in Lancaster.
Pereira was transported to Leominster Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
While the crash is under investigation, an obituary and a GoFundMe fundraiser, states that Pereira was obeying all traffic laws when the accident occurred and was struck by an SUV
According to the obituary, he was born in Fall River, raised in Assonet and being a dad was most important. He also was witty.
“Chris was, above all else, a dad. His children, Evan and Cora, were at the center of his life, and being their father was the role he treasured most.”
“Chris had a quick wit and an uncanny ability to leave a room in stitches with a well-timed line. He was equally comfortable with a deep, meaningful conversation as he was with a good-natured ribbing. He was thoughtful, deeply intelligent, remarkably attuned to the people around him, and delightfully competitive. He thought things through, felt things deeply, and had an insatiable curiosity.”
Pereira also loved music and was a bass guitarist and sound engineer.
