Family members gave Fall River Reporter an update on the condition of a motorcycle rider seriously injured on Saturday.

At just before 6:15 p.m., the Swansea Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a crash with injuries in the area of 580 Grand Army of the Republic Highway.

Officers arrived to discover a crash involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle. The motorcycle operator suffered injuries that appeared to be life-threatening and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. A passenger in the pickup truck was taken to a local hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening. The driver of the pickup truck was evaluated at the scene but not transported.

The Swansea Fire Department, Swansea Ambulance Corps, and Somerset Fire Department Ambulance also responded to the scene.

The motorcycle rider was Eric Pagan who is a barber at City Clippers on Pleasant Street in Fall River.

Pagan’s father gave us an update and let us know the type of man he is.

“A great father and husband. We can’t say much. He is in stable condition as of right now, but he is still fighting for his life. If we can come together in a chain of prayer for my son and all riders. Please be careful. Respect these bikes. Coming from one rider to another, be aware of your surroundings. Most of the time it’s not the rider it’s others. God bless.”

Pagan is married and had a new addition to the family just a few days ago.
