Fall River bagel and bakery spot up for sale; owner to focus on newer venture

A breakfast, lunch, and dinner spot in Fall River is for sale.

NY Fresh Bagel & Bakery opened at the former Katrina’s Bakery at 248 Jefferson Street in March of 2024, however, the eatery will eventually have a new owner.

Current owner Md Shahidul Islam told Fall River Reporter his reasoning for putting the business on the market.

“It’s really challenging to run two businesses at the same time. My bagel business operates from morning until lunchtime, while my Indian restaurant, Monalessa’s Kitchen, runs from lunch through dinner. To manage both, I have to work from early morning—around 6:30 a.m.—until 10:30 p.m. at night. It’s definitely difficult to keep up with both. That’s why I’ve decided to focus on just one business for now.”

Monalessa’s Kitchen opened across the street in March of this year.

The asking price for the business and its contents is $59,900 (building not included) and will include experienced staff willing to stay on and support a smooth transition, including training for the new owner.

The eatery is still open while it is for sale.
