Fall River auto repair center closes after three generations

It is the end of an era for a Fall River auto repair business.
According to daughter Stefanie, owner/mechanic Ron Picard permanently closed Theo’s Service Center at 35 Oak Grove Avenue on Saturday after being open for three generations.
“My great grandfather Theophile Picard opened Theos Service Center, when I can’t tell you, but a very long time ago. Then my grandfather, Wilfred Picard, took over and retired in the mid 1990’s, in which my dad Ron Picard had taken over. Today, my dad begins his journey into retirement.”
Stefanie noted that Theo’s is closing for health reasons that Ron needs taken care of to ensure he can enjoy his retirement years.
She also thanked the customers and mechanics over the years.
“Thank you (to all of the) guys that came through working for Theo’s and especially Kevin who worked for my dad for many years. Also, thanks to all the loyal customers that supported Theo’s Service Center.”
In addition to performing auto repair and inspections stickers, Theo’s previously served gas and had a car wash.
The property is listed as under contract with a year built of 1962 and an asking price of $799,999.
