Fall River Attorney and Elder Care Founder Extradited, Faces Child Rape Charges in Revived Case

UPDATE: The second paragraph previously stated that Gonzalez was taken into custody by Broward County sheriffs at the Broward County airport in February and brought back to Massachusetts in May.

FALL RIVER ─ Aneudy Gonzalez, an attorney and businessman with ties to the city, was arrested on a Fall River police warrant in Florida earlier this year, extradited and is facing four counts of rape of a child and indecent assault of a child.

Gonzalez, 44, who resides in Boca Raton, was taken into custody by Broward County sheriffs at the Broward County airport in May after a warrant was issued in Florida in February.

It was the second time the Fall River Police Department investigated Gonzalez for the alleged rape and assault of the same victim.

In 2017, the alleged victim and family reported the sexual assault on the then 11-year-old, however, the Bristol County District Attorney’s office failed to prosecute Gonzalez.

The victim and family again filed another complaint in December with similar allegations for the alleged sexual assaults that police reports indicate occurred in Fall River in 2013 and 2017.

This time the DA’s office moved ahead with charging Gonzalez with the four counts.

A request for a reason as to why the DA’s office did not move to prosecute Gonzalez in 2017 was not answered.

Gonzalez, who is represented by former District Attorney Sam Sutter, was arraigned in Fall River District Court on June 30. He was released on $10,000 cash bail, had his passport seized, and is not allowed to leave Massachusetts.

According to the 2024 police report, detectives obtained Gonzalez’s location through the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles through the registration of his 2021 Lamborghini Huracan.

Gonzalez is scheduled back in court on Aug. 21 for a probable cause hearing.

Reports indicate Gonzalez founded elderly foster care business

Gonzalez is reportedly the founder of the Fall River based company, Mass Care Link, which provides elder care services.

The Massachusetts attorney is not named on any documentation in the state’s Massachusetts corporation database.

However, at least one online publication indicates Gonzalez as a principal in the elderly care organization, including a May 2024 story in New England Monthly Magazine, where he is identified as a co-founder of Mass Care Link and established in 2013.

Gonzalez is a 2015 graduate of UMass Dartmouth Law School.

The Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers’ website shows he holds an active law license in the state of Massachusetts with an address of 99 South Main Street; the same address associated with Mass Care Link.

A call to the BBO inquiring if his law license was still active with his pending criminal charges, the agency’s First Assistant Bar Council Sherri Gilmore said according to Supreme Judicial Court rules, unless there is a published finding, their investigations are confidential.
