According to the National Weather Service, there is a High Wind Warning scheduled.

* Locations Southern Bristol MA-Southern Plymouth MA-Barnstable MA-Dukes MA-
Nantucket MA-Washington RI-Newport RI-Block Island RI-
Including the cities of Fall River, New Bedford, Mattapoisett,
Chatham, Falmouth, Provincetown, Vineyard Haven, Nantucket,
Narragansett, Westerly, Newport, and New Shoreham …include south coastal Rhode Island and south coastal Massachusetts including Cape Cod and the Islands.

* Winds…Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.

* Timing…1 am tonight until 10 am Sunday.

* Impacts…Considering that some trees still have leaves, there
are potential impacts of downed trees and/or tree limbs
possibly resulting in power outages, structural damage, and/or
blocked roadways.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A High Wind Warning is issued when sustained winds of 40 mph are
expected for at least one hour, with gusts of 58 mph or greater
at any time. Damage to trees, power lines, and property are
possible with winds of this magnitude. Power outages are likely.
Take action to secure loose outdoor objects.
