A well-known seasonal ice cream spot in the Fall River area has been put up for sale.

Lickety Splits at 719 State Road (Route 6) in Westport has been placed on the market.

The listing, which has an asking price of $475,000, is as follows:

“Commercial gem!!! This prime location is in a high traffic location with endless money-making possibilities. Currently used as a hot and cold take-out food business. Plenty of space for parking 20+ vehicles and outdoor customer seating. Detached storage trailer in back with electrical power. Family-owned for over 60 ears. Easy access to highways. Property and restaurant equipment being sold in “as-in” condition. Great commercial space!!!”

Lickety Splits, whose structure was built in the 60s, offers over 24 flavors of soft serve, regular ice cream, burgers, Coney Island hot dogs, chili, and clam cakes.

The ice cream shop is closed for the season and typically opens in April.

Fall River Reporter asked ownership for comment concerning the property being put up for sale.

“Well 2 years ago I was 99.9% sure it was getting sold then but it didn’t, so I think I’ll wait until it’s official (before) I comment on it.

Sounds like for now, the fate of Lickety Splits is up in the air.
