Fall River area could see first snowfall since spring this upcoming weekend

Some of us love it and some of us hate it, but it is a fact of life in Massachusetts that it will snow. Fall River could see its first snowfall since the spring this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service Boston, the Fall River area could see its first snowfall of the season.

While it is expected to be a small amount, less than an inch, we saw what happened earlier this week on area roadways when surrounding communities experienced their first snowfall, so it is something to be aware of.

The forecast:

Tonight

Partly cloudy, with a low around 22. West wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Saturday

Sunny, with a high near 38. West wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Saturday Night

A chance of snow, mainly after midnight. Increasing clouds, with a low around 27. Southwest wind 5 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Sunday

A chance of snow before 8am, then a slight chance of rain between 8am and 10am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 44. West wind 7 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Sunday Night

Mostly clear, with a low around 27. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
