Fall River, MA – The South Coast Nurse Honor Guard has announced that it has received an official Nurse Week Proclamation and Citation from the Office of Governor Maura Healey in recognition of National Nurses Week and the vital contributions nurses make across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

This proclamation formally acknowledges the dedication, compassion, and professionalism of nurses, while also highlighting the meaningful work of the South Coast Nurse Honor Guard in honoring nurses at the end of life through ceremonial tributes.

“We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition from the Governor’s office,” said Darlene Tetreault/ President & Founder. “This proclamation not only represents the importance of nurses statewide but also brings awareness to the sacred role of honoring our fellow nurses with dignity and respect at the conclusion of their life’s journey.”

The official proclamation and citation serve as a statewide acknowledgment of the impact nurses have on patients, families, and communities every day. It also reinforces the mission of the South Coast Nurse Honor Guard to preserve the legacy of nursing through respectful and meaningful tribute services.

The organization is currently exploring opportunities to further share this recognition with the community and continue expanding awareness of its mission.
