Fall River and Somerset police combine to arrest two on drug trafficking charges

Two people have been arrested after an investigation into drug dealing in the area.
According to police, FRPD C.A.S.T. detectives conducted an investigation in regard to a methamphetamine (crystal meth) drug operation taking place out of a camper on the property of 147 Luther Avenue in Somerset. The targets of the investigation were 34-year-old Derek Jones and 31-year-old Monica Thibault. Intel was received that Thibault and Jones were selling methamphetamine and other illegal narcotics to individuals from the Fall River/ Somerset/surrounding area. After learning this information C.A.S.T. detectives and members of the Somerset Police Department Detectives conducted a joint investigation.
On Thursday, Detectives were armed with an active search warrant for the camper located on Luther Avenue. C.A.S.T detectives and Somerset Detectives executed the search warrant and located inside of the camper was Monica Thibault and Derek Jones. Jones was found hiding in a storage area located under the camper’s bed at the time of the search warrant.
Seized were 114 grams of meth, digital scales, and packaging materials.
Jones was charged with Trafficking 100g+ meth, possession of Class B drugs & outstanding warrants.
Thibault was charged with Trafficking 100g+ meth & possession of Class B drugs.
At Friday’s arraignment, Jones and Thibault both pled not guilty and were held without bail pending completion of a dangerousness hearing.
