Fairhaven teen killed in crash on Route 6 remembered as fundraiser created
A Fairhaven teen killed in a collision this weekend is being remembered.
According to the Bristol County District Attorney, at approximately 9:20 p.m. Saturday, Fairhaven Police and EMS received 911 calls regarding a multi motor vehicle crash on Route 6 and Jeannette Street.
Upon arrival, police located a silver 2009 Nissan Sentra with catastrophic front-end damage. The Sentra was in the east bound side of the roadway facing West. The Sentra had a single driver occupant, a 17-year-old female from Fairhaven, who was pronounced deceased on scene.
A second vehicle, a 2021 black Ford F-250, was located on the westbound side of the roadway lying on its side with heavy front-end damage. The Ford had 2 occupants, a male and female in their 20’s, who were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
A third vehicle involved, a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 with minor front-end damage was found to have 2 occupants who were not injured.
According to a GoFundMe fundraiser, Marin Stackpole had driven to Fort Phoenix Park to take photos against the backdrop of the sun setting over Buzzard’s Bay just before the crash, which was just a few blocks from her home.
“Since her early childhood, Marin was a free spirit; loving, beautiful, and unique in her style. She was so looking forward to her senior year at Greater New Bedford Vocational HS and was passionate about volleyball and hanging out with family and friends. She held two summer jobs: Cisco Brewery and Nick’s Pizza. Marin always brought a special light and joy to her family that was beautiful to see and be around.”
Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office also responded to the scene. This matter is under investigation.
