Excessive Heat Watch issued for most of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut as dangerous heat, humidity enter region for multiple days
Most of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut are in for a very warm next couple of days.
According to the National Weather Service, dangerous heat & humidity is on tap Monday through Wednesday & there will be the risk for some afternoon and evening showers & thunderstorms.
An Excessive Heat Watch has also been issued for Tuesday.
Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
After the heat and humidity, a cold front will bring relief Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
