ERO Boston apprehends Ecuadorian national charged for sex crimes against minor in Fall River court

BOSTON — Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston apprehended a 29-year-old Ecuadorian national charged with numerous sexual crimes against a Massachusetts minor. Officers with ERO Boston arrested Bryam Saraguro Ramon July 27 in North Dartmouth.

“Bryam Saraguro Ramon is charged with some serious and disturbing crimes against a minor in our Massachusetts community,” said ERO Boston Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons. “We will not allow noncitizen sexual predators to victimize the children of our neighborhoods unabated. ERO Boston will contiue to prioritize public safety by arresting and arresting egregious noncitizen offenders.”

U.S. Border Patrol apprehended Saraguro after he unlawfully entered the United States May 13, 2017, near Laredo, Texas. Border Patrol officials served Saraguro with a notice to appear before a Department of Justice immigration judge and transferred custody to ERO.

The Department of Justice immigration judge granted bond, and Saraguro bonded out of ERO custody June 20, 2017.

The Massachusetts State Police arrested Saraguro July 23 and charged him with two counts of aggravated rape of a child with more than a 10-year age difference, indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older, and 2 counts of distributing obscene material to a minor. The next day, the Fall River District Court arraigned Saraguro on those charges.

On July 24, ERO Boston lodged an immigration detainer against Saraguro with the Bristol County House of Correction.

Officers with ERO Boston arrested Saraguro July 27 at the Bristol County House of Correction in North Dartmouth. Saraguro remains in ERO custody.
