Emergency service calls to Taunton hotel housing migrants up 700% over last year
Calls for police and emergency services to the Clarion Hotel in Taunton have increased 700% over last year during the same time period when the hotel was not housing migrants.
In a request to Taunton Mayor Shauna O’Connell’s office, Fall River Reporter asked for an updated call tracking log which was provided to us by O’Connell’s Chief of Staff, Ligia Madeira.
In the report, Taunton Police Department tracked all their calls to 700 Myles Standish Blvd, address of the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center. The hotel, which began housing migrants in late May of 2023, had limited calls for service until it began offering emergency housing for migrants.
Between January 2023 and May 2023, Taunton Police Department tracked a total of 44 calls for police or emergency services to the hotel.
Between January 2024 and May 2024, Taunton Police Department tracked a total of 360 calls for police or emergency services to the hotel.
Earlier this year, we reported that the hotel has paid the city of Taunton over $300k for police details at the site after hotel management added round the clock police presence on site some time last fall.
Fall River Reporter was also first to report that the city is suing the owners of the hotel for over $100k in unpaid fees after the Building and Zoning enforcement department determined the hotel was over occupancy between May and September of 2023. That case is still pending.

Sickened by this travesty. Last year when even our Mayor was blind-sided by the Healey machine every taxpayer and healthcare provider, safety and fire fighter, along with every legal homeless person. Shame on you democrats for pickpocketing the very citizens who are paying your salaries and pensions!
You! You are the problem, as well as any republican politician in MA who is complicit.
