Electric bicycle rider killed, another seriously injured, in Plymouth County collision
Hingham, MA – A fatal crash on Rockland St. involving an electric bicycle and a pickup truck is currently under investigation.
According to Lt. Steven Dearth, on Monday just before 6:15 a.m., Officers responded to reports of a crash involving an electric bicycle and a truck on Rockland Street at Ringbolt Road. Two people who had been riding on an electric bicycle were found in the road with serious injuries. Both were transported to South Shore Hospital, but one rider did not survive. The driver of the truck was not injured and remained at the scene.
Preliminary investigation indicates the electric bicycle and the truck were traveling in the same direction headed west on Rockland St. when the crash occurred. It was still dark and raining at the time.
Rockland Street remained closed at Hull Street and at Canterbury Street until 11:00 a.m.
The crash is being investigated by Hingham Police, State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and State Troopers from the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.

You think the electric Bike rider was riding in the middle of the road? This state is so stupid to allow bicycles to do this it will only get bike riders killed
