Elderly pedestrian struck by vehicle in afternoon incident in Fall River

Fall River crews responded Monday afternoon to an incident where a pedestrian was injured.

According to scanner transmissions, Fall River Police, Fire, and EMS responded to a vehicle versus a pedestrian at just after 5:45 p.m. in the area of Broadway and William Streets.

Upon arrival, the pedestrian was found to be conscious and alert.

According to a witness, an elderly gentleman was in the crosswalk at the time he was struck and was complaining of pain in his legs and neck.

The victim was transported to an area hospital.

It is unclear if the driver will face any charges.
