Early morning highway crash sends multiple people to New Bedford hospital

Crews responded early Sunday to a highway crash that injured multiple people.

According to the Lakeville Fire Department, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Lakeville firefighters responded to the southbound side of Route 140, north of County Street, for a motor vehicle crash.

Ambulance 2 and Engine 1 were dispatched with the Massachusetts State Police. A recall for staffing sent Ambulance 3 and Car 1 to the scene as well.

Both patients were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

The crash is under investigation.
