Driver transported to New Bedford hospital after crash shuts down Route 140
A Wednesday morning crash shut down a local highway, officials say.
According to the Lakeville Fire Department, responders were sent to the south bound side of Route 140 just before 8:00 a.m. this morning for the report of an accident. The incident occurred just south of the County Road on ramp.
Engine 1, Ambulance 3, and Car 1 arrived on scene to find a single patient still in the vehicle. The patient was extricated and transported to St Luke’s Hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening.
The highway was briefly closed to allow firefighters to operate safely at the scene.
The crash is under investigation.
