Driver rushed to trauma center after serious morning crash on Route 138
Crews responded to a loud and serious crash early this morning in Rhode Island.
According to PFD, Portsmouth Rhode Island Firefighters responded to the area of 3300 East Main Road (Route 138) for a car versus utility-pole crash with entrapment at approximately 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
Residents 2 miles away reported hearing the crash.
Firefighters extricated the driver with the jaws of life.
The operator was transported to the trauma center at Rhode Island Hospital.
The crash is under investigation.
