Driver injured, charges pending, after reportedly fleeing from Dartmouth crash

Dartmouth MA – A driver will be facing charges after a recent crash in Dartmouth.

According to Dartmouth Police, on Sunday, at around 9:10 p.m. Dartmouth Police responded to a report of a gray BMW that struck a telephone pole in the area of 603 Potomska Road.

Upon arrival, it was observed that the vehicle had hit and broken a telephone pole, and that the driver was no longer in the vehicle. A witness stated that the driver may have run into the nearby woods. Officers used a police drone to find the driver shortly after their arrival.

The driver was identified by police as 41-year-old, Joshua Gallaudet of Dartmouth. He was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Through the preliminary investigation, it is suspected that alcohol impairment may have been a contributing factor.

The incident remains under investigation by the Dartmouth Police Department and charges are pending.
