Driver hits ambulance and causes it to rollover in Falmouth
Police are investigating a crash that rolled over an ambulance Friday.
According to the Falmouth Police Department, a preliminary investigation revealed that the Mashpee Fire Department ambulance was traveling west on Route 151 with its emergency lights on. Multiple eastbound operators had pulled to the shoulder of the road and yielded to the ambulance. One operator did not yield, crossed the centerline to avoid cars on the shoulder, and struck the ambulance head-on.
In total, 2 cars and an ambulance were involved in the crash.
Four occupants received non-life-threatening injuries.
The road remained closed for some time while officers investigated.
