Driver facing several charges after head-on crash in Fall River’s north end results in several injured
Fall River Police have released more details concerning a crash that left several people injured on Tuesday.
According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, just after 4:00 p.m., Officer Jeffrey Louis responded to motor vehicle collision in the area of Cumberland Farms, located at 4548 North Main Street.
Through his investigation, Officer Louis discovered that a Mazda was being operated erratically traveling south on North Main Street. At one point, the operator attempted to pass another vehicle using the opposite lane of travel. This resulted in a head-on collision with a Nissan Frontier which was traveling North on North Main Street.
The operator of the Nissan was transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital for medical evaluation. Both occupants of the Mazda were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital. Pereira stated that all parties are stable at this time.
The Major Crimes Division, Crime Scene Unit and Accident Reconstruction Team responded to assist with the investigation.
The operator of the Mazda, a 27-year-old male who was not named, is facing several charges to include unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unregistered motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and marked lanes violation.
