Driver charged and cited after truck collides with home in Fall River sending one to the hospital
One person was transported to the hospital, and a driver is being charged, after crashing into a home in Fall River on Monday evening.
According to Detective Sergeant Moses Pereira, just after 9:45 p.m., Officers responded to the area of Stafford Road and Winthrop Street after receiving reports of a vehicle colliding with a home in that area.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the operator of the Toyota pickup truck fled the area after the accident. He was later located by officers a short distance away.
According to witness reports, the vehicle was attempting to turn North onto Stafford Road, when it struck the residence.
The operator ultimately refused medical treatment. His passenger was transported to an area hospital for a medical evaluation.
The operator of the Toyota has been issued a citation and will face criminal charges as a result of the accident.
The building inspector responded to the scene of the accident and deemed the property safe for inhabitants.
