Dr. James Witkowski has been promoted to Executive Chief of Medicine at Southcoast Health

Southcoast Health has announced that Dr. James Witkowski has been promoted to Executive Chief of Medicine at Southcoast Health.

With an admirable commitment to our community, Dr. Witkowski has served as the Hospitalist Site Medical Director at Charlton Memorial Hospital since 2008, overseeing rapid growth of the hospital medicine program over the years.

“Southcoast Health has been my professional home for 18 years, and I have been honored to work alongside so many talented clinicians, nurses, and staff. Serving my Southcoast colleagues, our community, and our patients is truly a privilege. I do not take the trust placed in me lightly, and I remain deeply committed to advancing our health system and improving the care we provide,” said Dr. Witkowski.

In this new role, he will lead the system-wide Medicine Division across the medicine specialty clinics and all three hospitals, focusing on strategic initiatives, clinician recruitment efforts, talent development, productivity, and clinical quality.
