Double shooting death in Raynham confirmed as murder-suicide

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced that the cause and manner of death has been determined for both decedent’s in the double shooting fatality at 134 Elm Street West in Raynham on Friday. 

The Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the cause and manner of death for 37-year-old Marie Hunt to be a homicide, shotgun wound to the torso. 

The cause and manner of death was determined by the OCME for 35-year-old Mark Henshaw to be suicide via a shotgun wound to the head. 

Raynham police responded to the residence at approximately 12:05 p.m. after receiving a 911 call.  Upon arrival at the residence, police found no signs of forced entry.  Once police entered the home, they encountered two minor children who were unharmed. Police then forced entry into a locked second floor bedroom where they discovered two adults.  Henshaw was located on the bed with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.  Hunt was also located on the bed and discovered to have a gunshot wound to her abdomen.  Both adults were identified as living in the home and were pronounced deceased on scene at approximately 12:39 p.m. by EMS.

This investigation is being conducted by Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with Raynham Police.
