Dorothy Cox Chocolates opens Fall River location
The City of Fall River is smelling a little sweeter.
Dorothy Cox Chocolates opened their new store and manufacturing facility just before Christmas at the former 27,000 square foot Save A Lot building at 100 Griffin Street.
The founder, Mary Dorothy Cox, was a Fall River native who started selling her chocolates in 1928 after making them in her kitchen. 3rd and 4th generation candy makers currently use family recipes to create their chocolates.

The chocolatier is known for premium chocolate and high-quality ice cream. The different variety of chocolates are too many to count in addition to their chocolate covered fruits, pretzels, nuts, jellybeans, cookie dough, and espresso beans.
Dorothy Cox’s Candies & Ice Cream also has a location on Berdon Way in Fairhaven in addition to an online store. The Wareham location is now closed.

Years ago, Fall River had a retail location that sold the chocolates where the current courthouse stands on South Main Street.
Dorothy Cox Chocolates is open Monday through Saturday 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Quality chocolate but pricey. Peppermint Bark is best I’ve ever had!
