Dog that tragically killed Somerset woman, euthanized

A dog who mauled a Somerset woman, who then tragically died, has been put down.

According to WJAR 10, the decision to euthanize the dog was made by the family.

Melissa Astacio was having a seizure inside her home when Amigo began to attack. When police and paramedics arrived on scene, police were forced to deploy a Taser on the dog before being able to assist the victim, who was then rushed to Rhode Island Hospital where she later died.
