Dog left on the side of the road ready to be adopted, suspect arrested
It appears that a story concerning an abandoned dog is headed toward a happy ending.
North Attleboro Police announced Thursday that an arrest has been made, coincidentally on National Puppy Day, in regard to the abandoned puppy from February 26, 2022.
Dominique Scott was arraigned at the Attleboro District Court on the charge of Cruelty to Animals.
The puppy, named Axel by NAPD, was left on the side of the road in a blue crate on Draper Avenue in North Attleboro. He was found by someone walking their own dog and it is unknown for how long he was there for.
Since he was found, NAPD took Axel on all kinds of adventures and documented them on social media.
The NAPD stated that Axel is doing fantastic after getting medical care and all adoption inquiries should be referred to the North Attleboro Animal Shelter website.
