Dog killed, others injured, in multi-vehicle crash on Route 6 in Westport

A dog has died after a multi-vehicle crash in Westport on Friday.

At approximately 7:00 p.m. crews were called to the scene of a collision in the area of 66 State Road (Route 6) near White’s of Westport.

According to Fire Chief Dan Baldwin, the crash resulted in one transport with minor injuries. A second patient refused treatment and transport.

Unfortunately, a dog, riding in one of the vehicles died as a result of the collision.

The crash is under investigation.
