Doctor licensed in Rhode Island and Massachusetts held without bail on child molestation
A local doctor is facing a troubling charge.
According to Police Chief Michael Correia, the Barrington Police Department began a criminal investigation on January 25, 2024. This investigation was led by Det. Joshua Melo. The Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office, Aubin Center, Day One, and the Department of Children, Youth and Families assisted with this investigation.
The investigation focused on David S. Healey of Barrington, Rhode Island, and involved a juvenile.
Healey is a licensed Medical Doctor in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
On Thursday, Barrington Police presented an affidavit for an arrest warrant for Healey at 6th District Court, Providence.
Based on the facts presented, an arrest warrant was issued. On Friday, Barrington Police apprehended Healey at his residence and was subsequently presented in Providence District Court. He was arraigned on a one count criminal complaint, First Degree Child Molestation.
Healey was held without bail, with the following conditions: – No Contact with victim, – Surrender of Passport, – Surrender of Firearm(s), – No Contact with Minor(s).
