Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School in Fall River issues update on new school
A high school in Fall River recently issued an update on the progress being made on its new building.
Construction on the new Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School in Fall River is progressing steadily and remains on schedule.
The project, which broke ground in November of 2023, aims to replace the outdated existing facility with a modern, state-of-the-art building designed to better serve vocational education needs.
Recent tours by school officials and local leaders, including a walkthrough last week by Massachusetts Senator Michael Rodrigues, reveal significant updates on the project, such as completed framing in many areas, ongoing interior work, and infrastructure installations like plumbing and electrical systems.
The school noted that “every day, more than 190 workers from Suffolk Construction are bringing Diman’s innovative vision to life, building state-of-the-art vocational and academic classrooms, an auditorium, gymnasium, offices, and more.”
The school is expected to begin moving equipment into the new building as early as January 2026, paving the way for a fall 2026 opening. The demolition of the old building and completion of the new fields are expected to be finished by August 2028.
The build is confirmed to be on budget with a $305 million price tag for the 395,000 square foot structure. Fall River will be contributing just over $100 million to the effort—reflecting the city’s heavy investment since approximately 76% of Diman’s students reside here.
