FALL RIVER/SOMERSET/WESTPORT/SWANSEA, MA – A cheerleading group from a Fall River school is going places.

According to Diman Regional, this past weekend at Worcester State University, the Diman cheer team placed 5th in the State and scored high enough to advance to Nationals at Hershey Park in Pennsylvania in April.

This marks only the second time in Diman Cheer history that a team has made it to Nationals, twice in the last six years. The team also has qualified for the New England regional tournament later this March.

The Diman Cheer Team is led by Captains Jayla Bernard (Senior), Lillyanna Resto Cabral (Junior) and Jaida Brooks (Junior), and a talented group of sophomores and freshmen.

The team is having a remarkable season, with a Mayflower Championship earlier this year, followed by their outstanding second-place finish at the MVADA competition.
