Despite trying to keep it secret, Massachusetts police officer to receive medal after saving woman’s life

Despite trying to keep it under wraps, a Massachusetts police officer will soon be honored for saving a life.

According to Plymouth Police, on June 21st, 2018, then Sergeant, now Lieutenant, George Driscoll responded to a Motor Vehicle Accident on Route 3. 14 minutes after arrival, he cleared the call via radio saying that the State Police were handling the situation and he would document the accident.

That was the only log entry that Plymouth PD had on this matter.

What Lieutenant Driscoll did not do, was document the fact that when he arrived at the accident he encountered an unconscious woman behind the wheel, who had no pulse. He removed her from the vehicle, placed her on the ground, and began team CPR with Trooper Matthew Hoss.

Their actions revived the woman and she survived.

The Department was just recently notified by the Office of the Colonel of the State Police that Lieutenant Driscoll will be issued the Massachusetts State Police Medal of Lifesaving at a ceremony later this month.

If you are one that believes no good deed goes unpunished, here is another notch in favor of that belief.
