Despite heroic efforts by off-duty nurse, Massachusetts State Police report fatal crash on I-95
A Massachusetts highway crash turned fatal Saturday morning despite efforts from a bystander and responders.
According to Massachusetts State Police, this morning, Troopers assigned to Foxboro Barracks responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash on I-95 North prior to Exit 17 in Foxboro.
State Police praised a nurse who arrived on scene and used training and skill to render aid.
Foxboro Fire and EMS, Mass DOT, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and Troopers assigned to the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the Crime Scene Services Section, Troop H Detectives, and the Norfolk County State Police Detective Unit also responded to the scene.
For the safety of investigators and motorists, officials closed the Interstate’s northbound lanes of travel.
MSP will issue an update when more information becomes available.
