DARTMOUTH, MA – On Saturday, August 10th at approximately 12:13 a.m., Dartmouth Police responded to the Residence Inn on Faunce Corner Road for a reported disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers learned that a thirty year old Connecticut man had been stabbed during an earlier altercation with a coworker.
Both men were part of a work crew staying at the hotel.
With additional information that they received while on scene, officers learned that the suspect had fled prior to their arrival.
Though the injury the male victim sustained was non-life-threatening, he was transported by EMS personnel to Rhode Island Hospital to receive further treatment.
As part of their investigation, Dartmouth Police identified the male suspect as Tyreke Brooks, 26, of Branford Street, Manchester, Connecticut.
At approximately 8:21 a.m., Dartmouth Police received information that Brooks had returned to the Residence Inn. In light of this, officers, including a Dartmouth Police K-9, returned to the hotel and took him into custody without incident.
In addition to being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, Brooks also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
