Dartmouth Police arrest local man for cruelty to animals

DARTMOUTH, MA – On Friday, May 18 at approximately 6:50 p.m., Dartmouth Police received a report of a man beating a dog with a baseball bat inside of a vehicle located near Colonial Way.
Upon locating the vehicle and conducting an investigation regarding the reported animal abuse, Dartmouth Police determined that Gregory Ostiguy, 50, of Rockdale Avenue, New Bedford, MA did indeed strike his dog with a baseball bat.
Ostiguy was subsequently arrested and charged with cruelty to animals.
Ostiguy’s dog was transported to a local vet, where it was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
