Dartmouth pizza restaurant closing soon, reopening with change in concept

A local pizza spot is closing soon, but it isn’t all bad news.
Riko’s Pizza at 227 State Road (Route 6) in Dartmouth has announced they are closing after opening in April of 2024.
“Dear Riko’s customers,
“We’re writing to let you know that we will be closing our doors on February 9th, 2024 (Super Bowl). We want to thank you for your patronage and support over the past year. it has been our pleasure serving you.
“But this isn’t goodbye!
“We’re excited to announce that we will be reopening as a brand-new restaurant! We’re working hard behind the scenes to create a fresh and exciting dining experience for you. Stay tuned for updates on our reopening, including our new name, menu, and atmosphere. We can’t wait to welcome you back!”
According to Dartmouth Guide, the new restaurant will be a change in concept to be more like the old “Busters”. They look to offer a sports bar feel and menu.
Riko’s is known for their super thin-crust, tavern-style pizzas with a full cocktail and beer menu.
They are also known for Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports’ 8.2 rating. “I love bar pizza. This is pretty f*&cking good.”
Among the pizza options are margherita, gluten free, clam, and hot honey LTO. You can also customize your own.
The Dartmouth Riko’s is currently the only location in Massachusetts. After Sunday, the nearest one will be in Connecticut.
