Dartmouth Fire Department extinguishes fire shooting from roof
A fire in Dartmouth has caused serious damage to the upper level of a home.
Dartmouth Fire District 1 was dispatched to a working house fire last night at 26 Freemont Street in the Padanaram area after a homeowner reported his house was on fire.
Crews arrived on scene within minutes to visible flames extending through the roof of the structure.
All occupants were out of the home when firefighters arrived.
Firefighters conducted an aggressive interior attack coordinated with exterior roof operations to knock the fire down within 20 minutes. Crews remained on scene exposing hot spots and overhauling the 2nd floor ceilings for an additional hour.
District 1 was assisted at the scene by an additional Engine from District 3 and Station coverage was provided by District 2.
An investigation as to the exact cause is ongoing.
