Dartmouth father and son take home damaged by fire and turn it into gorgeous property and it can be yours

A local father and son turned a tragedy into a thing of beauty.

On April 13, 2022, the Dartmouth Fire Department was dispatched to 111 Prospect Street for a reported structure fire.

Crews arrived within minutes to find the house engulfed in flames. Crews worked to knock the fire down and confirm there were no occupants in the dwelling, however the home was a total loss.

Thats when Christian Gwozdz-Silveira and his father David, who both have extensive building and real estate experience, had an idea.

“When this property came on the market, my father and I saw great potential to turn a tragedy into something good for the neighborhood. It wasn’t about money, rather, it was a project that would be challenging, fun, and something we could do together. We knew after touring the fire destroyed property that we had to put our creative talents to use. “

And boy did they. 

The property is now a truly custom, new construction home! The house offers an open concept layout with sought-after amenities. The first floor features a dedicated laundry room, large walk-in pantry, mudroom with custom built-ins, alongside the kitchen with a large island, dining, and living room with an electric fireplace and floating shelves. Upstairs, discover spacious bedrooms with ample natural light. The primary suite offers a beautiful ensuite bathroom with two walk-in closets.

The pair kept the foundation and garage of the original house while trying to meet the demands of a family in today’s economy.

    It wasn’t about money? Sold for $200K and now listed for $760K yeah NOT about the money at all.

    and I agree with the fed up one and the annoyed at humans one as well ,a profit of almost 6 hundred thousand ,,, yeah not about the money, its about them wanting to “meet the demands of a family in todays economy” LOL the mortgage alone on that is over $2700 and that’s AFTER putting $152,000 down ! now factor in the costs of everything else ( gas, electric, phone, cable, water, sewerage, trash pickup, insurance, food, clothing, entertainment etc.,,,) and we are at the very least $6 k a month,… todays families and tomorrows families are doomed

      Oh no it costs them money but not anywhere near what they’re asking. I’m in the industry I know what new construction costs and what the profit margin is. These cookie-cutter house are terrible quality and the materials used will reflect that in 5-10 years. I have no problem with making a profit, But please spare me the bullsh*t it’s not about the money.

        Whether it was or wasn’t about the money is irrelevant. Good for them. If ya’ll angry little fellas had the same investment opportunity to do with your son, would you not? You can still want to help while earning a living.

        I’d rather take my $760K and buy two properties here in Texas where it’s still America. God help ya’ll stuck up there. Get out while you still can.
