Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Massachusetts State Police arrest 3 after drugs and cash seized
Several police departments combined to arrest 1 on drug charges and two on outstanding warrants.
According to Dartmouth Police, on Thursday at approximately 12:40 p.m., Detectives assigned to the Special Operations Division of the Dartmouth Police Department, with the assistance of Massachusetts State Troopers assigned to the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit, and Detectives assigned to the Fairhaven Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence on Gibson Terrace in Dartmouth.
During their search, detectives located approximately 55 grams of suspected crack cocaine, approximately 50 grams of suspected powder cocaine, and a digital scale. In addition, $1,255 in cash was seized.
As a result of the findings associated with the search, Dartmouth Police arrested 40-year-old Nicholas Azeredo of Dartmouth. Azeredo is being charged with trafficking cocaine in excess of 100 grams and possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug (subsequent offense).
In addition, 30-year-old Edmund Melo and 48-year-old Joshua Bagao both of New Bedford, were arrested on scene regarding outstanding warrants.
Detective Matthew Correia conducted this weeks-long investigation, with the assistance of other detectives assigned to the Dartmouth Police Community Impact Unit.
