DA identifies Rhode Island motorcycle rider killed in multi-vehicle Massachusetts highway crash

A motorcyclist injured in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 South in Westwood Wednesday night has been pronounced deceased at a Boston hospital, Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey announced today.

The victim, 71-year-old Harris Shippee of Warwick, R.I., was driving a three-wheeled motorcycle that collided with a Jeep Wrangler.

The crash occurred at approximately 9:25 p.m. near the East Street exit.

A passenger on Shippee’s motorcycle, a 70-year-old woman, was taken to a Boston hospital with serious injuries.

A third vehicle, a Hyundai Sonata, was also involved.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation by the Massachusetts Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, MSP Crime Scene Services Section, and MSP H Troop.
