Crews respond to collision with injuries on Route 79

A highway crash sent an adult female to the hospital on Sunday.

According to the Lakeville Fire Department, a collision occurred on Rhode Island Road (Route 79), near Rush Pond Road just after 5:00 p.m.

The driver was injured when the car left the road.

At the time of the crash, the on-duty crew was committed to a medical emergency. Ambulance 1 did respond with a single paramedic / firefighter. A recall was transmitted sending supplemental staffing to the scene and allowing for Engine 1 to be staffed.

The driver’s injuries are not believed to be serious.
