Crews respond to car versus tree collision that sent driver to New Bedford hospital

A local fire department responded Saturday evening to an incident where a car crashed into a pole.

According to the Lakeville Fire Department, the accident occurred just after 8:40 p.m.

Ambulance 3, Engine 1, and Car 2 responded to the scene to find that two occupants of the vehicle had self-extricated.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be serious. The passenger was evaluated by responders but not transported to the hospital.

The crash is under investigation.
