Crews respond after car is impaled by guard rail, bursts into flames on Rhode Island highway
A vehicle was totaled after a fiery collision on a Rhode Island highway this week.
According to the firefighter union, Monday at approximately 1:21 a.m., Engines 1 and 2, Ladder 1, and Rescue 1 were dispatched to Route 4 South in East Greenwich in the vicinity of the Middle Road overpass, for a motor vehicle accident with a car on fire.
Crews arrived to find a fully involved passenger vehicle that was impaled thru the guard rail.
Miraculously, no injuries were reported.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire and cut the vehicle away safely from the guard rail via the jaws of life.
The crash is under investigation.
