Crews locate body of confirmed jumper off of Rhode Island bridge
A person jumped off of a Rhode Island bridge on Thursday afternoon.
According to scanner transmissions, at approximately 3:15 p.m., police, marine crews, and EMS were dispatched for a possible bridge jumper at the Mount Hope Bridge in Bristol.
It was later confirmed that there was indeed a jumper.
A witness saw the party jump and an unattended vehicle was located at the top of the bridge.
Marine crews located the body of the jumper at approximately 3:30 p.m.
The condition of the jumper was not released.
It was recently confirmed that a suicide barrier study for the bridge received state funding as community groups plead for the barriers to be placed.
In early June, a male jumped from the center span of the Pell/Newport Bridge.
