Crash into Swansea funeral home during service Saturday injures two
Two were injured Saturday morning where a vehicle crashed into a Swansea business.
The crash occurred at Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest at 189 Gardners Neck Road before 9:00 a.m. this morning. According to Swansea Fire Chief Eric S. Hajder, the vehicle went into reverse through two sets of doors into the main lobby and struck a gas fire place, but the gas was shut off quickly which avoided more injuries or worse.
A service was going on at the time of the crash.
Two elderly women were taken to the hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries, but the Chief was not totally certain.
The crash is under investigation.
