Cranston Police find man deceased from gunshot wound after responding to home
Police found a man deceased after an afternoon standoff.
According to police, at 1:12 p.m. this afternoon, the Cranston Police Dispatch Center received a call that a suicidal male was inside a home on Pontiac Avenue and in possession of a firearm. Responding Officers formed a perimeter and alerted neighboring residents. Attempts to establish communication with the individual were unsuccessful.
At approximately 4:00 pm, Officers made entry into the second-floor apartment and found the forty-four-year-old male deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.
