COVID-19 cases increase in Massachusetts by over 600 in 24 hours to 1,838, cases nationwide spike

Massachusetts has seen 679 more positive cases in the last 24 hours.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 1,838.

146 cases have been found to be transmitted through the community and92 are related to traveling. 1,501 are under investigation.

Governor Baker stated that he plans to continue to ramp up testing.

Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 3,802
Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 1,655
Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,147

According to the CDC, as of March 25th, the total amount of cases in the country is 54,453 with 737 dead. Massachusetts has seen eleven fatalities.

Fall River, Somerset, Swansea, Seekonk, Berkley, New Bedford, Taunton, Lakeville, Easton, Raynham, Mansfield, Attleboro, Middleboro, and Freetown have all seen cases of COVID-19.
